Born in Johnstown, PA, Judith Cutler has lived in Charlotte, NC for the past 16 years.
Judith Cutler is a Signature Member and designated Master Pastelist of the Pastel Society of America in New York City, a Master Circle Member of the International Association of Pastel Societies and a Member of Excellence of the Southeastern Pastel Society in Atlanta. She is also a member of the Piedmont Pastel Society, and the Pastel Society of North Carolina.
Judith earned a Graphic Arts degree from Pennsylvania State University. She worked 25 years as a designer for several companies, including IBM, Holiday Inn Corporation, and Oakland University in Rochester, MI.
In recent years, Judith has found new passion when using pastels as a drawing tool and painting medium. She also employs mixed media to create works using representational and nonrepresentational approaches.
She is a 2011 recipient of a Regional Artists Project Grant, Arts & Science Council, Charlotte, NC. In 2005 she was selected by the McColl Center for Visual Art to participate in the 6th Street Windows Project at the Hearst Building in Charlotte.
Judith’s work has been exhibited at the Butler Institute of American Art, the National Arts Club in New York City, Oglethorpe University Museum of Art in Atlanta, and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art.
